Enough with those Nick to NFL rumors.
Had he really wanted it, he would have gone by the end of last year or a
year ago. He wasn't a let-go in the first place anyway.
Why would you trade a chance to be legendary -- not just at one school, but
in the history of college football -- with an NFL coach position, struggling
with salary/talent cap and free agent decisions?
Let me break it down for those smart people who still don't have any clue:
1) Nick Saban is now the KING of college football (defined as 2 NCs in 3
years, and possibly 3 in 4). It has been this way for quite some years and
still has many years to come.
2) As the result, Nick Saban will be a LEGEND, inevitably. He will be the
first CFB coach who can be as successful as, if not more than, the Paul "
Bear" Bryant.
3) Challenge? So winning 2 champs in 3 years was not challenging? or 3 in 4
not challenging enough? Well, go tell that to YOUR OWN COACH, who apparently
has nothing to do with any NCs in the past 5 years. (You are fine if you
are Gator fans or Tiger fans)
Challenge is not everything that makes you happy. If so, why don't you
challenge yourself to jump off an 10000+ ft cliff naked? It's winning the
challenge, consistently, that makes people happy, dumb ass (quote from our
former presidents' public speech, not PA or GA). Nick proved he can win
consistently in CFB, and not so much in NFL. His wife recently just stated (
the 50th time) that they will retire at the U of Alabama.
At the same time, as Bama fans, we should feel pretty good about those
rumors, which to some extent reflect their own frustration and the fear of
the Tide.
