flier from 1876 UM vs. ND in his office with all the starting players names.
Was USC even exist back then?

交手早是一回事, 但是耐不住那边一输球就cancel比赛呀, 1909年ND第九次打Michigan
终于赢了, 来年回访时车队刚开出学校一袋烟的功夫, Michigan那边来电话了, 今天的
球不打了...谁能想到下次交手时二战都快结束了.

整体比赛场数远远不如MSU/Purdue
Tradition是靠一场场比赛养出来的
Rutgers以前还和Princeton有比赛
历史观点看，历史长啊
现在多年不打，也不算什么了吧

seriously nd needs the california exposure. if i am ND and have to pick betw
een usc and um, the choice is a no-brainer

连MSU/Purdue和Michigan比, Michigan都难以胜出, 交手80次的rival能跟40次比吗.
在modern era, Michigan和ND恐怕交手也就25次吧.

ly make you more important. michigan plays indiana much more often than they
play ND, you think indy is more important an opponent for them?

bigger rivalry game than UM/ND. |

发帖数: 3036 | 13 应该说有很多因素，比赛质量，传统等。作为USC球迷，宁可输ND也不能输UCLA。毕竟
在南加这里，办公室同事很多是USC，UCLA毕业。虽然USC/ND比赛质量，传统上都胜出
，但是谁都不愿输给同城对手。

ND百分之四十学生来自midwest,大约至少百分之二十是Indiana的。他们的情绪也是需
要照顾的。
而且South Bend也不少Purdue毕业生，要输了，走到local的超市都分分钟有被挑衅和
嘲笑的危险～
两个学校距离不远，student body travel去客场几乎是最方便的，
中西区两校家长也经常走动看客场……
全国范围内看，除非普渡找回Drew Brees，要不然关注度肯定不高。
不过如果超越体育来看，对一个私立学校ND，建立一种更深的community bond，是安排
这比赛最大的意义，而且很可能比热闹的UM/ND更重要一些。

发帖数: 3119 | 19 恐怕没人把Neb和Ohio state算在ND rivalry之一。Wiki列的那几个还真就cancel了这
一个。
一边要照顾national recruiting base, 一边要照顾local community 情绪，MSU既不
是Local又不是recruiting hotspot, 偏偏ND就愿意保留。说到底，还是两个38：0的比

发帖数: 3119 | 20 这倒不必担心，换个球队晚上比赛还是找的出来滴。PSU Nebraska Wisconsin都可行。
不过就是三十多年很多人喜欢和习惯看的一场比赛没了可惜而已。今后就看UM vs Utah
或者ND vs 维克森林这样的新rivalry
