he NFL announced the Pro Bowl rosters on Tuesday, and the SEC leads the way
once again in alumni selected to the game.
The rosters will change when players turn down the game for various reasons,
but for all intents and purposes, these 86 are among the best players in
the NFL this year.
Here’s how the roster breaks down by college conference:
SEC: 19
Pac-12: 14
ACC: 12
Big Ten: 11
Big 12: 9
AAC: 5
MAC: 4
Independent: 3
Mountain West: 2
Sun Belt: 2
C-USA: 1
The SEC is once again on top, and the AAC leads the Group of Five
conferences. The FCS and Division II also sneak in there.
LSU and Georgia led schools with five selections each. LSU’s were Tyrann
Mathieu, Patrick Peterson, Odell Beckham Jr., Trai Turner and Anrew
Whitworth. Georgia’s five were Todd Gurley, A.J. Green, Thomas Davis,
Justin Houston and Geno Atkins.
Pitt, USC and Wisconsin were right behind with four selections. Coastal
Carolina had two.
