rules.

In correlation to a new recruiting model which includes an early signing day
in December, the NCAA has adopted five additional major rules changes
highlighted by the elimination of two-a-days — multiple contact practices a
day during the preseason.
The NCAA Division I Council’s Football Bowl Subdivision and Football
Championship Subdivision members cited growing safety concerns for the move.
According to the NCAA, "a single day may include a single, three-hour, on-
field practice session and a walk-through. During walk-throughs, protective
equipment such as helmets and pads can’t be worn, and contact is prohibited
. Walk-throughs also can’t include conditioning activities and, in the
Football Championship Subdivision, are limited to two hours in length."
Four additional rules changes are as follows:
增加第10个助理教练:
Beginning after the 2017 season, college football programs are allowed to
have a 10th assistant on staff. Many programs have found ways around having
more than nine "assistants" in the past, but now, it's official.
Offseason camps limited to 10-day periods during June or July. It also
requires that the camps take place on a school’s campus or in facilities
regularly used by the school for practice or competition. In layman's terms,
essentially the NCAA has ended satellite camps.
Hiring family members or those closely associated with a recruit is
prohibited for a two-year period before and after the student’s anticipated
and actual enrollment at the school. Men's basketball adopted a similar
move in 2010.
Per the NCAA, the new recruiting model "adds a period for official visits
that begins April 1 of the junior year and ends the Sunday before the last
Wednesday in June of that year. Official visits can’t occur in conjunction
with a prospect’s participation in a school’s camp or clinic (effective
Aug. 1)."

A December signing period/
The recruiting calendar now allows for an early signing date in December
that likely would fall during the same 72-hour period during which junior
college players currently sign. Players who want to end the recruiting
process can sign early, while players who want more time can wait until the
February date. In basketball, which has signing dates in November and in
April, most players sign in November. “That early signing period is
preferred in most sports if not all,” said Northwestern athletic director
Jim Phillips, who serves as the council’s chair. “There is a segment that
wants to get it over with.”
The Collegiate Commissioners Association, which runs the National Letter of
Intent program, must approve the new signing period in a June vote. But
since the commissioners run the leagues that just approved this package,
there shouldn’t be any objections.
