Tell me about it. Who has the moral standard without punishment? Are all
german people bad? Moral regulation only works in resticted situations.
Whether you like it or not, that is common in all Chinese universities. Even
in the USA. Last year there were a student convicted of cheating in the
university court of my school and kicked out. Hard rules work. Nothing more.
Believe in moral standard? Try tell those bad government officials not to
steal public money into their pockets... See if you ca | q*****m

My answer is NO. Severe punishment alone won't work.
I give an example of Ming Dynasty, when severe
punishment doesn't work. You think the law at that
time is not law without any reason.
The traffic in US is better than China not because of
severe punishment, but due to better moral the people
have in US than China. Ever seen a Chinese driver
gives right of way to a pedestrian?
Severe punishment works in a very limited sense

偶记得还有一半: 道德能起作用吗?
偶的答案是能, 可无法实现.
这样说就不好了吧, 我给了理由,理由就是在一个人治的社会下
没有真正现代意义上的 法律.
Yes I agree with you. 但这里面有个蛋生鸡还是鸡生蛋的
问题. 即, 究竟靠什么使得鬼子显得moral?靠天生还是靠对法律
的无条件服从导至习惯成自然?
你也承认广大drivers同志喜欢speeding, 这显然不能作为道德好的
证据. 但是, 为什么知道要倒霉还干? 人性. 这就是说, 道德这种东西
是用来束缚人性过度的部分. 这个任务好象不太容易, 但我们又要生活
下去,怎么办? 只有从外部加以强制.
Again, I agree with you. 因为这句话放之四海皆准, 偶把" Severe punishment"
换成"道德", it still works. hehe

发帖数: 42 | 5 Here in US, if one is catched in red hand when cheating, he
will get a XF, which means that bascially, his "credit"has
been ruined. Everyone should take care of his own credit, if
he dare to take the chance. Definitely, give him a XF. The
rule in China (not only in NK, some other school like WHU also
has such problem) is too loose, i.e. cheating itself can be
skiped out of documentation of studfent upon graduation, it is
ashaming for school to do so. |
