The tragic May 11 earthquake in Sichuan was centered in an area more than
two hundred miles from Chongqing. Our contacts at the Chongqing Science and
Technology Commission and elsewhere in China assure us that the impact of
the earthquake on the Chongqing area was minimal, with no effect on the
Convention Center, hotels, or other sites we will use. Thus, there are no
current plans or reasons to alter the schedule for the International
