Dear colleagues and friends,
As the Editor in Chief and also on behalf of all the Associated Editors, I
am pleased to inform you that we have launched a new journal, Nanoscience
and Nanometrology,
http://www.sciencepublishinggroup.com/journal/index?journalid=356
which aims at addressing metrological aspects of nanoscience and
nanotechnology. Launching Nanoscience and Nanometrology meets the need for
a unique forum where works devoted to methodologies, techniques,
instrumentation for quantitative characterizations at the nanometer scale
and the related results on nanomaterials could find a place. These
topics combine with specific metrological issues at the nanoscale such
as calibrations, standards, traceability, evaluation of uncertainty, and
good laboratory practice.
Nowadays, some of these aspects, which are having increasing importance due
to the dramatic progress in nanoscience and nanotechnology, find a proper
outlet only in the ‘nano’ sector of journals devoted to metrology or in
journals devoted to nanotechnology. Nevertheless, in these journals, the
nanometrology
topics often seem too ‘specific’. Nanoscience and Nanometrology has
been launched with the objective of filling this gap and creating a
common platform to address these themes and disseminate the obtained
results.
Nanoscience and Nanometrology is a peer reviewed, open access journal
which for the time being will publish with six-month frequency. The
journal has been set up with the purpose of requesting indexing to Thomson
Reuters as soon as possible. An analogous request of indexing will be
requested to Scopus.
In order to promote the new journal, the article publication costs (which
can be found on the journal webpage) have been lowered by the publisher
for articles received before the end of December 2016, as detailed in the
journal webpage.
Should any of you be interested in submitting your works and/or proposing
review papers, they can directly contact the Editor-in-Chief at his mail
address [email protected]/* */ or any other Associated Editor for
further details.
Sincerely yours,
Daniele Passeri
Editor in Chief of Nanoscience and Nanometrology |
