shoprite,bed bath&beyond, BJ）的范围，立刻就拖走……
上次我们也是这样因为先去shoprite然后去newport mall溜了一圈就被拖走了，气死了
。去shoprite，BJ和bbb complain了一圈，他们都表示同情，但是都表示无能为力，说
是property owner的意思，他们也没辙。所以我们以后再也不光顾那个plaza了，对于
流氓，既然惹不起，至少不给流氓管理的地方生意做…… |

就没把车停到停车场。回来发现车被拖了，还得打车去拖车厂。最可气的是那哥们就在
plaza上蹲点，看到我们回来了，主动提供拖车公司信息，我考；
第二次在那mall看晚场电影，结果回家的路上被JSQ那的老黑抢劫了，我考！从此再也
不去那里了...

predatory towing company在此劫道。说了他们几个问题，一个是非法使用scout，一
个是招牌不合规，还有是cash only不收信用卡。
你可以试试去file a complaint to 某个agency （news里说过，但我把名字忘了)，或
者给议员打电话。这事既然已经闹大了兴许能把钱要回来。good luck

lot，第二次在shoprite parking lot。最可笑的是这两家parking lot都空荡荡，有大
量的车位available。
第二次被拖的时候，我存心玩弄一下拖车的，在拖车公司门外打电话问他们从shoprite
帮我把车拖到他们那儿附近修车，大概多少钱，他回答$60。好，然后我就马上放下电
话走进门问，那么你是不是收我$60我就可以拿回车了，这孙子立即变脸了，说什么这
一类的是什么no competition的，同样的路程，必须收$180才行。我当时又跟他说，那
我身上只有$60现金，其他的我刷卡吧。这孙子一看反正不亏本，就收了我$60现金，刷
了$120在信用卡上。过了几天，我就打电话给信用卡公司把$120 dispute掉了。呵呵 |

有一次是晚上车玻璃被砸了，警察就把我车子拖了。
也开的罚单，因为得开罚单才能拖的，但是罚单后来打电话dismiss了。
也许你也可以把你的罚单打电话去消掉。 |

Danny's Towing scam scheme

Our car has also been recently 'stolen' by Danny's Towing. My husband
rented a car from the Avis in Jersey City and left the car next to the
tram stop that is situated near the Bed Bath and Beyond and some big
supermarket, it also happened to be near the house where we live. He
went to collect me and 10 minutes later when we came back, we did not
find the car, but there was a Danny's Towing guy who swiftly approached
us and informed us that our car was taken away.
1) How did he know it was us who left car 10 min ago?
2) It seems he has been hanging around waiting for us to return.
3) They did not want credit cards but only cash.
4) They told us that there is a supermarket camera that records what is
happening at the parking lots next to it and that they called them and
asked to remove our car.
Now, this is what I observed later (as I work from home and can see the
parking area where our car was stolen).
There are two guys operate the scheme - one sits in a private car and
drives around the parking area closer to tram lines where very few
people park. He circles around and around watching who and what type of
cars park there. As soon as he sees a car that he thinks is a good
target parked in the space he observes, he waits for the owner to leave
and then approaches the car and gives a call to his accomplice who has
his truck just around the corner. So the truck guy brakes into the car
(I actually saw how they do it with a special device), mounts it on the
truck and drives quickly away. The other guy stays and hangs around
either waiting for the owner to return or to see what other cars he can
steal.
Now, they operate in a certain area of the car park only - away from the
major supermarket car park. The area where it is easier to remove cars
and the area where there are fewer people.
Anyone who happens to park their cars for a short time near the tram
trucks should be aware of this scheme.
It is better to park where there are plenty of cars and witnesses.
I hope they will be eventually punished. I think what they do is illegal
- 1) they are breaking in into a private property 2) they steal private
property without any legal written notification or warning.
I have travelled a lot and have never seen anything like that! |

Well since NO ONE is going to state the truth about DANNYS TOWING then I
will. Apparently, Mr. Danny along with his son's & other workers are
scaming people in that parking lot. What they do is very harsh to people
just to make money. These towing guy's sit in regular cars in the parking
lot & stay watching as people park & go. Once they spot a victim they call
Mr. Danny to come & pick up the car that they are towing. But not only are
the son's or the other guy's who work for Dannys Towing are involved in
this scam. Other workers who work for the maintenance company G&S, who are
the ones who clean up that parking lot are also very well involved to in
this. You see, those are the main helpers in that lot; for every car that
they help tow, they also get paid 10-20 bucks a car. So yes, scamming isnt
the word. This has been going on for years, & I have witnessed it myself.
They all need to be watched as well as EZ TOWING BUSINESS. Gary can pull
up all the fronts but it was about time that someone spoke up about this
matter & actually was bold enough to put these guys on blast. |

Watching as his car was nearly towed from a lot in New Jersey only one
minute after he parked, prompted Fox 5 News reporter John Huddy to
investigate the towing company.
What he discovered were some shady business practices and predatory
behavior.
The experience was not limited to Huddy. As Fox 5 News witnessed at the
Metro Plaza lot in Jersey City, a man sitting inside a car watched
people park their vehicles and then appeared to make a call on his cell
phone or radio. Within minutes a tow truck pulled into the lot.
The 'spotter' could be seen video recording the tow truck moving a
vehicle out of the lot.
When he approached the 'spotter' to ask why he was having the vehicle
towed, the man replied ' no comment.'
Huddy witnessed as two tow companies- Danny's Towing and EZ Towing-
removed cars and trucks from the lot even when it was wide open.
A man who said he had parked in the lot and was headed to the affiliated
BJs store told Fox 5 News his car was towed in a matter of minutes.
"$152.10 just for towing my car? Cash?" said Jean Marie Alezandre. The
man said he was paying a bill at a different location but was headed
back to BJs to do some shopping as he regularly does when his vehicle
was towed.
FOX 5 News also spoke with a man who said his car was towed after going
into one of the Metro Plaza stores, and then briefly going to a
neighboring business.
By law, private property owners are allowed to have vehicles towed. But
'predatory towing' is illegal in the Garden State.
Tow companies engaging in 'predatory behavior' make thousands of dollars
from holding the car until the owner pays up.
According to the New Jersey Predatory Towing Prevention Act:
•it is illegal to charge an unreasonable towing fee
•the towing company must allow people to pay by credit card
•signs must be 36 inches wide by 36 inches tall and clearly marked
•it is illegal to tow a vehicle 'without having been specifically
requested to tow such vehicle by the owner of the property
The company G&S Investors owns the Metro Plaza lot in Jersey City. A
representative for the company wrote Fox 5 News in an email that no car
is towed unless the driver leaves the lot... and that a towing service
is necessary to "protect the safety and convenience of the customers of
the Metro Plaza merchants."
The questionable towing procedures are not limited to Jersey City.
An undercover investigation was launched by the Union Township Police
following numerous complaints from business owners of the P.P.M. Towing
company, according to Sgt. Robert Christie.
The NJ Division of Consumer Affairs confirmed there are complaints
against PPM Towing, Danny's Towing and EZ Towing.
A representative for Danny's Towing and the owner of EZ Towing told Fox
5 News that they were just doing their jobs.
PPM Towing did not return calls to Fox 5 News.
Store representatives for several businesses at Metro Plaza told Fox 5
News they had received numerous complaints from shoppers about improper
towing.
Anyone who feels they may have been a victim of 'predatory towing'
should contact local police and the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs. |
