You can buy dashboard-mounted GPS if it is not obstructing your view.
Remember, the GPS on winshield, the little lucky charm you hang on the rear
mirror, even the next oil change tag, is illegal technically.
But it serves the purpose of giving the cop other reason to write you a
ticket if you smile big enough at him after he stops you.

which is a moving violation with points and more fines but this one is none
of those.
Cops need to save face and get compensated even if he feel he could give you
a break ^_^

use the GPS while it is moving... Although, practically, you can do what you
want... But the manufacturers are off the hook legally.
