This opening is in Decision Technologies team where we’re primarily
looking for a software developer with some math background. We support
H1B sponsorship. Location: Parsippany, NJ
Analytical Systems Developer
Description
Develop a sound understanding of the Wyndham business model, data and
systems
Work, as directed, on software development projects related to decision
support tools either as an individual or as part of a team
Assist senior developers and architects in every aspect of the software
development life cycle
Assist in designing better processes and developing applications to
efficiently automate time consuming manual processes
Work with researchers to effectively translate new forecasting and
pricing
algorithms into robust applications and associated processes
Handle ad-hoc data requests from business stakeholders as needed
Provide support for existing applications and meet stakeholders' service
expectations
Develop and maintain good documentation of code and processes. Assist in
writing user manuals, as needed
Qualifications
At least 1 year of .NET development experience gained either in an
industry
or academic setting
Object oriented programming skills in at least one of C++, Java, C# or
Visual Basic required
Experience querying and building databases required; Familiarity with
SQL
and ADO, Access and Oracle desired
UNIX and scripting experience beneficial, but not required
Familiarity with SAS desired, but not required; must be willing to
quickly
learn SAS to an intermediate level
Graduate degree in a quantitatively oriented subject (e.g. Computer
Science,
Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering etc) desired; candidates
with
a Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field can be considered if they
have
least 2 years of applicable industry experience
Intellectual curiosity and willingness to explore and learn new
technologies
is required
Strong quantitative and communication skills required; must possess a
pragmatic approach to solving problems
