new apartments/condos.
Does anyone know the commute? If take 158 express bus, how soon can get to
PABT?
Other than craigslist, where else can I get rental information?

Along the palisade of lower Hudson, as long as you don't get mired down in
the traffic of 拉丁neighborhood you are considered express.
156R 159R and all 158 are express in this sense
Because all 3 avoid 拉丁美洲 by taking River road.
However 158 does stop at every place along the river
It can take a good 30-40 minutes to get to the middle of tunnel
commute options are quite limited for edgewater.
It's not ideal for regular commuters looking for a quick hop into the city. |

The entire area was built in the past 15 years. What's edgewater today was a
mud wetland 20 years ago and built the area using crap landfills.
the apartment is nice, but in summer, you could smell the Hudson in the
bedroom and it is terrible.
there are also complains about water quality with the tide is high..
i would stay away from that area...

I just moved to the city 4 months ago. Figuring that it's difficult to sell
my car at a decent price, I want to keep it now. So I'd like to reconsider
monthly living expense giving a car is expensive to keep in this area. I'm
thinking moving out of Newport and going to somewhere less expensive and
easier to keep a car. I do have to commute to the city (8-9am to mid town)
everyday so that's another important thing to be considered. Budget wise, I
hope to control it under 1500 per month. If can find good deals, I don't
mind sharing with a roommate.
I did some research and Edgewater and Fort Lee are among the good
neighborhoods. That's why have to come here and ask you guys.
More suggestions? Thanks a bunch!

发帖数: 2719 | 15 if you work in midtown, have you concsidered Queens or Long Island.
I used to live in Hoboken, but moved to Long Island earlier this year.
Hoboken is nice and the PATH train is lot more reliable than the traffics in
lincoln tunnel. 1500 would get you a nice 1 bedroom in Hoboken but no
parking. Parking is another $200.
Queens/Long Island is about the same. Queens is closer but more expensive.
MY train ride from Long Island is 25 mins to Penn Station in the morning,
compared to 15 mins from Hoboken. It is not a huge difference.
IMHO, taking trains, PATH, subway, LIRR, Metro North, is way better than
taking buses to go thru tunnel and bridge. I would never move somewhere that
does not have a railroad connection.

One look at the map you should know you should not live there.
Just look at the map.
Jersey provides easy commmute to the city and much BROADER access to
mainland united states.
You are not like hanging and swinging like a dick that's too easy to be cut
off by any disgruntled house wife. |

vs cock.. not an easy choice..
having access to mainland USA is great only if you need to swing by PA all
the time... for me, having easy access to Flushing is more important, most
chinese would agree.
