发帖数: 3032 | 1 想问问大家有没有送过小孩上暑假的英文补习班/夏令营？有没有推荐的？有个朋友的
孩子刚移民，现在念初中，英文跟不上，想暑假找个补习班或者夏令营专门补一下英文
。我翻翻中文报纸发现这几个：
1. CCB 李文斯顿补习学校
2. 新州华人中心2012暑期夏令营(Sommerset)
3. 华硕育才夏令营
这几个大家用过吗？或者有别的推荐吗？美国人的补习班也行。先谢谢大家了。 | x*********i

我去过=.=说实话没意思...主要都是SAT方面的，难度高，去了也不是那么有用吧。。。
反正个人感觉。。。英文语法其实这边教国内初中基本都教了。
其实主要差的就是词汇和语感。。。
这些其实不是上补习班能补的，要靠自己。。
我初中毕业过来的=。=
反正觉得补习班啥的一点用处也没有，自己想学就学的会，不想学完全无用=。=
唯一的用处就是图个安心。。。代价还挺大 | x*********i

上午：
English Language Arts Program - Offered for all levels
- The English Language Arts Program at C.C.B. School is shaped by the
conviction that language is the essential means of gaining self-knowledge
and for participating in community. Therefore, English Language Arts Program
for each group level is focused on the accumulation of reading and writing
skills. First we introduce
the student to the joys of reading and writing. Then we invites the student
to refine the skills inherent to each activity to enhance the ability to
develop their own voice and to enrich their appreciation of other voices.
The emphasis may vary from course to course, but the goals of instruction
are constant: the development of skills of expression, listening and
understanding. The courses in group level sequence are differentiated
primarily by the increasing complexity and sophistication of the writings
the students compose and the works they read. At every level, students are
likely to write in various forms and to read works representing diverse
voices and experiences.
下午：
Reading and Essay Program - Offered for all levels
- At C.C.B. writing is taken seriously. Wrriting is an important part of
school, increasingly an important part of standardized test-taking and
eventually and important part of life. Instruction in written expression
begins in the early grades at C.C.B., moving from vocabulary development to
sentence structure, on to paragraph formation and eventually to essay
writing. In a structured, nurturing environment, your child is encouraged to
explore his potential in the area of written expression. In order for
skills to progress, a student must write frequently and a teacher must read
and evaluate
all writing. Student-teacher interaction is an important part of our writing
program. A certified experienced teacher reviews all writing and individual
comments are made on each assignment as to how the student can improve.
Students also have the benefit of writing conferences, either in small
groups or individually, with their teacher as a means of teacher feedback.
The goal of our program is to move students toward becoming self-sufficient
writers who are able to eventually independently self-evaluate and revise
their own work. C.C.B.'s systematic instruction emphasizes additional
information
not taught in the public schools, clarification and restatement of the
basics, as well as enrichment lessons as determined by your child's
individual need.
一共是差不多4小时一天。你以前上的是这些课吗？小孩现在7年级，上暑期班前说是给
评估一下，估计要跟低班的一起上,否则肯定难度太高。这小孩写的作文我看过，还是
有好多语法错误，时态有些都不对.小孩暑假不上学，送去补习班至少比呆在家里好。
你觉得这两门课有用吗？下午那门是不是就是你说的那种Writing课?
