终于下决心自己动手做Patio了,本来想做的复杂些,设计来设计去弧形变成了长方形,带
灯的pillar变成了wall. 选了简单的pattern, fire pit也从计划里拿掉了. 毕竟第一次做,还算满意.总面积700平方英尺 (20 x 35 feet),就等着买patio set,吃烤肉了.
Step 1: Prepare the base, flat the dirt, but keep the base 1" higher close to the house. I use a water hose to keep it level. Compact the base using a vibrate plate from HD
Step 2: Prepare the base for the wall using gravel and build the wall.
Step 3: Put down the fibric cover to prevent grass growth, and dump all the gravel.
Step 4: Compact the gravel;
Step 5: Level the surface with stone dust
Step 6: Put down the pavers, and build the sitting wall, and step.
Step 7: fill the gaps between pavers with sand.
Step 8: Add the cap on sitting wall, and build the pass to drive way (no finish yet).
Total cost and weight.
84 Wall bricks ~$1100, total of 6700 Lbs
40 sqf of sitting wall (20 feet long, 2 feet high) - $500, total of 6,000 lbs
62 wall caps $500, total of 3,500 lbs
700 sqf pavers, $1,700, total of 25, 000 lbs
14.5 cubic yard of gravel $520, total of 45,000 lbs.
10 bags of sand, $77 total of 500 lbs
Rental of vibrate plate $160, wet saw $100, fabric cover $100, edge $120.
Total $5,000 and 86,700 lbs. All done with a shavel and wheel barrow.
It is a hard work but lots of fun if you like it. | s******g
