Visiting Lecturer of Chinese Language
Department of East Asian Studies, Brown University
The Department of East Asian Studies invites applications for a one year
position as visiting lecturer of Chinese language, effective July 1, 2011. M
.A. degree, or the equivalent, is minimally required. Native or near-native
fluency in Chinese (Mandarin), competency in spoken and written English
required. Candidates should ideally have experience teaching Chinese
language to English-speaking students at the college level. Experience in
directing Chinese language courses is also highly desirable. Please send a
complete dossier, including curriculum vitae, three letters of
recommendation, sample teaching materials and a DVD of classroom teaching to
Search Committee for Chinese Language, Box 1850, Providence, RI 02912.
Review of applications will begin April 18, 2011 and continue until the
position is filled. Brown University is an EEO/AA employer. Women and
