?

New York has the best Chinese food outside of China/Taiwan/HK
New York has the best Japanese food outside of Japan
New York has the best French food outside of France.
New York has the best Italian food outside of Italy.
I don't care about food from any other countries and I don't care for
museums. But just for the 4 culinary reasons above, I would choose to live in New
York, nowhere else.
I live in Long Island, about 15 mins drive to Flushing. Housing is nice and
cheap (though not as cheap as deep south), people are sort of freindly too..
. I don't have to drive an hour to find a good Chinese school for my
daughter and there are plenty of good Chinese piano, ballet and kung-fu
instructors. There is even a top-rated Japanese kendo insturdtor in my town.
Growing up in NY with people of all races and walks of life, my daughter can
appreciate and feel proud her Chinese heritage. That is just as important to me as my culinary discoveries in NY...

queens: forest hills. good primary school district.
long island city's condo is new and probably good view of the city, but the
enviornment around there wasn't too good.
Great Neck in long Island is very nice area. Super good school district from
primary to high school. Great Neck Plaza area has a lot of fashion stores
and restaurants. LIRR taks 25 mins on the train to the city.

go in mahanttan in your case :)
Battery park area is nice. Condo are newer. Upper east also good.
In brooklyn, Brooklyn Heights is a good place to live too. It has new condos
i believe. It is still city so the property tax is lower than Long Island.
Park Slope in brooklyn is good too. But I would like Brooklyn Heights better
if you don't concern too much for the price. It is very nice, clean, quiet
area with fantastic view of lower manhattan. Commute to downtown about 10
mins mid town 25 mins.
Personally, I don't like long island city...feels not safe in that area...
If you have to live in queens, probably forest hill/kew gardens. but they
don't have many new condos there.

Is the property tax in the city much lower than Long Island or NJ? what is
the percentage in each case?
But there is high common charges for condos, right?
