china for couple years around 8, 9th grade, and he/she will get a 800 on the
SAT math for sure.
and then buy a house in a lesser school district. let's say, u save 100K on
the purchase price, and 5K on real estate tax each year. over 12 years,
that could turn into what? maybe 200K. give it to ur kids! that definitely
beats work ur kids ass off and have him/her end up working just like a non-
ivy leaguer |

不高，如果刨去那些父母有真正实力的，成功率同普通学校的学生可能都差不多 -- 美
国政坛那么多ivy league出来的，父母有背景的好像很多 -- 所以让小孩去攀高枝，要
是小孩没movitivation，那确实是劳民伤财。

white ppl have already rejected this idea for long long time. -- ppl with
talents will succeed no matter what. look at bill gates, zuckerberg. they
don't even need a college education to be hugely successful.

u r stating. a good school district place may have a higher base price, so
the increase in value would seem larger, but it doesn't mean its increase is
bigger in terms of percentage.
also, if u want to look at the resale price, then just buy a place in
manhattan, or maybe outside the tri-state area, other places where there's
actually job growth...

You should check out the movie on how Facebook got started.
I don't buy that the rich have given up sending their kids to Ivy league.
Who are those contributors to their endowment funds!? A couple of Chinese
gave a few millions and it was big news, but compare to actual funds, it
would be a drop
in the bucket.
Not saying that Ivy school is the finish line, but rather it is another
higher starting point in their career & into society.

the percentage of wealthy parents is low and yet the success rate is very
high.

Top school districts like GN and others are still in 2004 range. In % terms
, you would see a much lower short sale & foreclosure % (outside of some
2006 & 2007 home buyers) vs. other areas.
