A vehicle struck a police officer and one other person in Queens Thursday
night, according to authorities.
The collision happened at Broadway and Crescent Street. Both victims were
taken to Weill Cornell in stable condition, the FDNY said.
Police have shut down the lower level of the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge as a
part of the investigation because the car crashed at 37th Street and 24th
Avenue and the driver fled on foot, officials said. | s******s
发帖数: 734 | 3 NEW YORK (WABC) -- A police officer was struck by a pickup truck in Astoria
Thursday night.
It happened at Crescent Street and Broadway in Astoria around 8:50 p.m. as
police attempted to pull the Ford F150 over.
The pickup truck was wanted in the robbery of a woman earlier Thursday in
East Elmhurst at 79th Street and Ditmars Boulevard.
The truck has Florida plates.
It was spotted by two officers who attempted to stop the vehicle, but it
took off, striking one of the officers in the process.
The officer who was hit then fired shots at the vehicle, which fled the
scene.
The officer's injuries are not believed to be life threatening. He was taken
to NY Presbyterian Weill Cornell Hospital.
The suspect's truck was abandoned at 37th Avenue and 24th Street, also in
Astoria.
The suspect fled and a large police search underway in Astoria for the
suspect.
The suspect is described as a white man in his 60's.
A second officer was also injured in the commotion but was not struck by the
truck.
The lower level of the Queensboro Bridge was shut down in both directions,
