Can I apply for a visa in New Zealand if I am not a New Zealand passport
holder or a permanent resident here?
Yes, an applicant has the right to apply at any U.S. Consulate abroad.
However, it may be harder to qualify for a visa when applying outside your
country of primary residence. If you choose to apply in New Zealand, please
understand that you may be refused, and the application fee is non-
refundable if the visa is not approved. You will need to demonstrate that
you have strong ties to your place of residence and that you will depart the
U.S. after your temporary visit.
