发帖数: 168 | 1 请问各位妈妈，带宝宝们去playground玩的时候，都是怎么教宝宝称呼他人的。
比如说，在国内，我们会教宝宝看见老年人要叫爷爷好，奶奶好。看见中年人要叫叔叔
好，阿姨好。看见别的宝宝要叫小姐姐，小哥哥或者小妹妹，小弟弟。
在美国，应该怎么教宝宝呢？特别是和说英文的外国宝宝们交流的时候，怎么有礼貌的
称呼对方呢？
这一直是个很困惑我的问题。只是让宝宝说HI，好像单调一点。特别是碰上对我们比较
友好的，怎么教宝宝打招呼呢？

--> My understanding is, like another one said, ask 那个美国爸爸's first
name (not last name), and call him Mr. "first name" such as Mr. John. Such a
call sounds concise and friendly and good to use for both adults and kids
in such a situation. Let me give you an example -- my dentist has a long and
not-easy-to-pronounce last name, so all his patients call him "Dr. Mark".
有一个美国老奶奶很喜欢我们
--> If your relationship with the 美国老奶奶 is very close, then it should
be fine to let your kid call her "Grandma first name". If the relationship
is not that close, then as above call her "Mrs. first name".

我家娃娃很用中文叫哥哥姐姐，爷爷奶奶。可是人家老美听不懂，直接翻译成英文人家
更觉得奇怪。 |

the first name to call family friends, starts with Ms./Mr.

--> 这是成人（家长）互相之间不熟悉的情况下（比如初次见面，还不知道对方名字，
只知道对方孩子的first name的时候）才应该用的称呼，只是临时过渡性质的权宜之称
呼。接下来应该立马询问对方的姓名（first name）并直接称呼。Mr./Ms/Mrs. + last
name是非常正式的称呼，在公园和学校这种casual的场合根本用不上也不应该用。
--> 对孩子来说，最合适的称呼小朋友家长的方式就是Mr./Ms/Mrs. + first name，因
为孩子不能直接称呼小朋友家长的first name，那样显得太粗鲁唐突；也不宜直接称呼
Mr./Ms/Mrs. + last name，因为如上所述是非常正式的称呼，对大人孩子都是。
Mr./Ms/Mrs. + first name介于两者之间，简洁可爱，符合孩子的身份。
--〉大人之间也可以称呼Mr./Ms/Mrs. + first name，是在开玩笑的轻松场合下，比如
在走廊里两个同事碰到了，甲热情地向乙打招呼，“How are you doing, Mr. John”
。我就这样被叫过。

parents' co-workers Mr/Ms in company picnic parties, where the
kids never met those people in person before. It would be wired and
confusing if I let my kid call my officemates "Mr. ", including
my direct boss.
