I did amnio test right before Christmas and got FISH result now but my
doctor is not coming back to work until next week. Her staff faxed me the
report but was not able to discuss it with me. My understanding is that my
baby is fine (not a Down baby). Can anyone help to interpret the result here:
Fish Result: Normal Fish Result
Findings and interpretation: FISH analysis was carried out using the probes
from Abbott Molecular as described above. One hundred interphase nuclei each
were examined.
The signal patters obtained detected a ?? (hiding the baby's sex here as my
husband doesn't want to know) genotype with normal copy number for
chromosomes 13, 18. and 21 in all cells examined from this specimen.
