today. This is only the 4th week for us to have the clinical classes in the
hospital. We've been working in med-surgical floor, where the pre- and post-
surgery patients stay and go. Nothing exciting till today. My patient got
acute abdominal pain, accompanied with N&V, throwing up everything from
hamburger to water. She has bunch of allergies and Diabetes. The first round
of CT and Radiology didn't find anything critical i | s**********8 发帖数: 49 | 2 How lucky you are! Can't agree more. The first semester clinicals were
nothing interesting but endless boring paper work.I didn't have the chance
to watch any surgery until now (my second semester). The perioperative
rotations turned out to be really rewarding. On that day, I scrubbed in and
observed the whole procedure of colectomy. How to describe it...I've never
been so amazed in my life.Standing in OR, putting my hands on pt's body,
observing the surgeon manipulating the diseased organ...sca | c*******o 发帖数: 8 | 3 Lucky you! I did my clinical rotation couple week ago in the OR. The only
thing I observe is the freaking screen on the X-ray machine. It was whole
bunch bladder surgery. No blood or gut at all. It was the most boring day I
have ever had in the hospital. After that day, I decided that I will not be
an OR nurse. The only thing my nurse did was charting. Surgical technician
is the one help the doctor. It wasn’t very impressive to me at all. But I
am looking forward for my ICU experience next semes |
