very good, many hospitals are have union, the salary is based on the years
of experience that you have, including your experience in China. Make sure
you bring a letter of employment from your hospital in China which proves
how many years of experience you have had. Starting salary is about $25,
every year you will get about $1.50 to $2.00 increment, untill 8 years, you
will reach the top, which is about $38/hour. Part-tim

currently. I want to ask if anyone know how an US RN can get a Canadian RN
license in order to work in Canada?
I also heard that Canadian RN requires at least a BSN. Is it true?

发帖数: 47 | 5 There are OT depends on which floor and which hospital you are working.
Normally if the floor needs a nurse, they will try to call all the par-
timers and casual nurses before they call the full-time nurses. 40hrs/week
is full-time hours. Any extra hours is considered OT and will be paid 1.5.
There are 12 Statutary Holidays a year will be paid 1.5. But if you are OT
on the Stat Holiday day, it will be double pay. Full-time RN get 12 Stat
Holiday a year and minimum 3 weeks paid vacation, and almo

College of Nurses of Ontario.

way, do you need to consider many legal issues in Canada? Here in US we need
to be very careful to patients and their family. |

Americans. If you work for a multiculture hospital, things will be easer.
If you want to come to Toronto, I may be able to give you some suggestion
about choosing a hospital and refer you. I asked you a question about nurse

发帖数: 47 | 13 It depends. Most ICU are 12 hrs shifts from 7 to 7. Most regular floors are
8 hrs. We get paid every 2 weeks, so the hrs are counted based on 2 weeks.
If you are FT, it is 10 8-hrs, 6 to7 12-hrs. If you are 12-hrs, you may work
4 on, 1 off, and 3 on again to finish your 7 shifts in 8 days and have 6
days off. Most of the time you have to rotate days and nights. You may be
allowed to choose working nights only but seldom get permanent days. Some
hospitals do self-scheduling, some only have lines,

find full-time jobs. I don't know about details but I know hospitals who
hire new grads will get funded.

radio that a very experienced American RN came to Ontario but not allowed to
practice. She has to go back to shool to complete her degree. You guys
better check with Canadian nursing board before you move. |

发帖数: 47 | 17 In Toronto, there are many Chinese nurses from Hongkong, and more and more
nurses from Mailand China. It also depends on where you work. Some hospitals
have more Chinese patiens and more Chinese nurses. In those hospitals, it
is an asset to speak Chinese.
