The patient’s coronary artery stent
occluded ten days after he was discharged
from the hospital after cardiac
catheterization.
He sued the hospital for professional
negligence. The Court of Appeals
of Texas ruled that the patient’s
lawyers’ nursing expert witness report
did correctly state the legal standard of
care for the hospital’s discharge nurse,
overruling a lower court judge’s opinion
to the contrary.
