This meter works very well. Even if you find out later that you need to
install radon mitigation, it's still helpful to have a meter monitoring the
radon level in the basement. Actually, if your radon level is high, I would
suggest you to DIY some windows exhaust fans rather than install a radon
mitigation system because they work equally well and the first is a lot
cheaper. In that case, you may want to own a meter, for the peace of mind.
BTW, the half life of radon gas is 3.8 days only. The radon level in a
basement varies from time to time, depending on the venting situation in
your basement. You can tell the difference (if you have a radon meter) when
your air conditioner/heating system is on.
