TULSA, Okla. (AP) — The 110-degree temperature reported in Tulsa didn't set
a record and it wasn't the hottest reading in Oklahoma.
According to the National Weather Service, Monday's high in Tulsa tied a
record set in 1923.
Most of Oklahoma reached or surpassed 100 degrees, but some of the hottest
temperatures were clustered in northern Oklahoma. The mercury peaked at 111
degrees in Bartlesville and Stillwater.
More of the same is expected through Thursday , with highs ranging from the
upper 90s to low 110s through the period.
The weather service has issued an excessive heat warning for 74 of Oklahoma'
s 77 counties. |
