Nowhere in the world have I encountered friendlier people. Nowhere. Perhaps
it was Olympic pride.
Perhaps I was just an easily identifiable American with a press badge. It
didn’t matter. The Chinese
people wanted me to think well of them and their emerging country, and it is
quite clear that this
nation’s greatest resource is its citizens.
