years. After several delays with our schedule, we finally have our
moment. Long Fourth of July weekend, my wife and I finishing up project
we been left over for long long time. 我话不多说啦。 看图说故事。
In April 2011, we have time to do some shopping and bought some wine
racks. Put them in the room, and just not satsify with the look.
Few months of delay.... 变成贮藏室了。
买到我们想要的 wine rack. DIY project started. Custom size with exact fit.
Building base platform. Put the rack on top to do a quick measurement.
"Two minds are better than one". BULL!! Not between wife and I. As both
engineers, we never agree on procedures and process. This time she's
brain and I am 做苦工. She measure and I cut. I just follow
orders. She's the boss. Don't you love those yellow recycle bins as
stand. They used to be Max's little bath tub stand.
Cutting！Low on battery. I should charge them last night. :(
Oops, accidentally I cut the box down below. As a handyman... I screwed
up. 老婆又要骂我了。
Wine rack base platform is in place. Perfect fit between the walls.
Max's awake from his afternoon nap. Celebrating Forth of July with red,
white & blue balloons.
We made a big mistake when ordering bottom wine rack. Perfect fit but
no room to maneuver around the corner. 结果把它给分了。 2/3 of rack is in
place.
Max and I put pieces together. Father and son's first project.
Done for the day. Can't do anything after Max wakes up.
Thanks God! Max went to sleep early in the night. End of working day
for us.
Next day... buying more materials. Max picking out his own wood.
Wife consulting with salesperson for crown molding material.
I am a handyman and also a 搬运工. This task is kind of "over my head".
Literally.
Max was too tired fell into sleep in the car with big cargo next to him.
No worry, it's safe. Everything been tied down. He sleeps and now it's
wife and my quality time together. Get to work!
Unloading our cargo. Wife always 抢我的事做.
我的工头又开工了。 She measure and I cut. 车库又乱了.
老婆... please don't stand up when measuring. 这样地撩人的姿势会让我血液倒流.
又来了。 What's more sexier than woman in short skirt doing man's job?
Almost finished. Countertop is installed. Upper wine rack is mounted to
the wall. Side filler is there. Crown molding is still not done. We have
to enforce it with something else before we put it up.
Cleaning up. Too much tools to put away. Installing crown molding only
need nail gun and screw.
Finished wine rack (minus final crown molding)
Tell you a little secret! We don't drink, especially me. I hate
alcohol and little allergic to it. I get red rash sometime. 谁有很多空的
酒瓶子，捐献给我们吧. I put few of our favorite drinks on the rack to fill
the holes. Water & sodas.
Coffee rack? Wife's favorite.
BSO our hard work. This is no wine rack. This is our new beverage rack.
Those rack were made out of cedar. They are so soft and easy to damage
and snap. We already dent and snap few, while moving into the room.
Sigh! No more DIY with cedar materials. :( Base platform and the
countertop are better with stronger material. Time to clean up our
garage. |

last year. Our HOA already approved the plan. Want to help? We will hire
movers to lift them in place. All we have to do is dig and setup.
BTW, what happen to your car? I thought you want to repaint it? I am no
expert but I can help.

小孩睡觉时才可以动工。 Three hours the most for each day.
crown molding in place and add a set of LED light behind it
decided to add a trim at the bottom of small rack to cover up the
unevenness.
add two old painting we had, wife use silverleave to cover
up the old brownish framing. 美中不足就是 power outlet in between paintings.
I have to move it behind the fridge/freezer next time.
FINAL!! Time to put all my junks back in the room. |

usually have 10 bottles per week for recycle. Thinking to knock their door
and ask too.
