Weather forecasting for Seattleites is a simple matter: Either The Mountain
is out and the weather is good, or it isnt (out or good). The Mountain is, of
course, Mount Rainier, the 14,410-foot-tall dormant volcano that looms over
Seattle on clear days; and though it looks as if its on the edge of town, its
actually 90 miles southeast of the city.
