this morning, cold and dry. Snow was stable. How can I miss this perfect
condition?
L and I drove to Marble Mtn snow park in the morning, we planed to do
backcountry ski at Mt.St.Helens. The parking lot was full of snowmobiles,
noisy and smelly, we didn't see any other climbers/skiers though. Quickly
skinning up and leaving parking lot, we soon enjoyed the quiet forest. The
snow was powdery, the trees were calm. Most of |

hardest trad pitches (5.10b roof on Y2K and a 5.10d finger crack Mushroom
People on Brass Wall) - all clean on my first try. Feeling strong.

发帖数: 2636 | 3 I did my first tendom repel today, and first time using half rope. I found
half rope really versitile and efficient for the type of climbs we're doing
in Red Rocks.
We bailed CC due to rain/snow/hail + high wind + higher 30s temperature
yesterday. Our plan was combining the 9 pitches into 6 and do a quick ascend
. Will go back when the weather is more stable.

's "stay alive in Ava". now, snowmobiler becomes the largest category of
ava death in accident.
I am looking forward to my Ava I class in Jan, Bruce will be one of the
instructor. |

发帖数: 39815 | 8 Tandem rappel (also called spider rappel) is very useful for speeding
descending and rescuing.
I had chance to use half rope several months ago on a 3-pitch climb, really
efficient in case one leads, two follow.
Actually, if you remember the first day we climbed cat in the hat, the group
behind us was using double rope

both people can help sorting out tangled ropes while moving at the same time
. At first I thought it's not safe, since each of us going down at one 9mm
half rope with very little friction on reversal. But once two people are
connected together using personal anchor, both having auto block, and both
rope ends have stopper knots, everything else is the same, except each one
go on one rope, and we got down really fast.
