多年前去过西雅图，觉得整天阳光灿烂的，还想有机会搬过去。
版上好几个大拿都在西雅图附近，是不是西雅图今不如夕了？（在户外、天气方面）

西雅图这几年也不知怎么了。天气一年比一年冷。8年前刚来的时候是3月，穿一件长袖
衬衫，在太阳底下，不冷不热，非常舒服，正值樱花盛开。艳阳蓝天白云鲜花碧海船帆
沙滩，那个美啊。结果这几年越来越冷，雨越来越多。一年有10个月不能户外运动。到
了3月份，冷得花总推迟花期。好不容易开了，也不是多年前我看到的那个粉嫩的样子
，而是惨淡的粉色和白色，一副没有接受足够阳光普照的猥琐样。
刚来西雅图时，我夏天的衣服可以从4月穿到8月底。现在可好，夏天高于20度的天气最
多一个月。刚回国一个月回来，走的时候下雨，一直穿着长袖加厚夹克。回来还是这个
天气，气死我了。夏天的衣服，准备全上换班，或者捐了算了。反正现在就秋冬两季。
去年花120大洋买得在院子里坐的秋千，从来没用过，淋了一年雨都发霉了。我上班的
地方更恶心，办公室常年10-18度，不穿毛衣夹克那个冷啊。我真的是要的抑郁症了。>

climbing though, california is clearly a better choice. utah is probably
the best for skiing.

People always complain about cloudy weather in Seattle. Is it just the city
or the whole Washington area? | c*******r

northwest for 11 years and never had a problem. it's overcast and gloomy in
the winter, but not cold. but I can still run 60 miles a week, half of which
is outdoors. I usually ski one day per week. in the spring, I'd go cragging
at Vantage, which is in central Washington and it's in a dry desert. In the
summer, I go climbing or cycling almost every weekend.
In the past year, I skied about 15 days, cragged about 40 days, had 14
alpine summits, some of which were overnights, ran 2000 miles. And people
complain about weather not suitable for outdoors?

santiam river ...
skiing: timberline (year round), hood meadows, mt bachelor (the best in PNW!
), and a few other small resorts
