none. and more specifically:
When Quotas are not in effect (winter season and non quota trails):
Permits are available the day before your intended entry date
During business hours, permits must be obtained in person inside the visitor
center.
After business hours, permits can be self issued outside the visitor center.
Reservations are not needed for winter season trips, the number of permits
that will be issued is unlimited.

It is not a big deal to anyone with winter hiking/backpacking experience at
a high altitude. One can go there, if :
1) equipped with crampons, ice ax and know how to use them well;
2) knows how to read the map, terrain, weather, and self-rescue. The ave-
risk shall be low this early in the season. But the trails high up are
likely covered with ice and snow. |

发帖数: 654 | 6 It seems the dude who wrote the trip report had limited snow/ice experience
. A pair of waterproof gaiters would prevent snow/water went into his
boots. Cold is a relative term if one knows how to dress properly and keep
hydrated. Obviously, he was not prepared. But he made the right decision
of turning around! |

mention a fatality in Whitney recently.
I have no experience with hiking in ice/snow condition, I will pay a visit
in july/august timeframe.
@TrueCabbage, it's very true. I will wait for next year. |
