year for me. I am hoping to get all 3 in July before my bike touring and
family camping trips in August. |

发帖数: 669 | 20 Fabulous weather except on Rainier summit. Had to come down from Liberty Cap
in high wind, near zero visibility and snow storm liked condition. Tried to
dig a snow cave to wait it out but it was too icy 2-3 feet down. Cold and
miserable, waiting without a snow cave means certain death. So we kept on
moving guided by GPS and my faint memory of the descent route. Managed to
get off Liberty Cap and reach to 13.6k col between the cap and Columbia
Crest.
Despately wanting to get down we tried to find the way to Camp Schurman even
though our car is on the other side of the mountain. We didn't care about
it anyway at that point. Could find the trail in low visibility after
circling 1/4 around the mountain just above the bergschrund on Emmons.
We had no choice but to go to Columbia Crest. Either the wind would milder
so we can set up tent or it would be easy to find the trail down DC. Luckily
, visibility improved greatly as we started going up.
Wind was still very strong in Crater so we descended down to Ingraham Flat.
Exhaust but finally safe.
If it were a full blown weather system moving in, we might not have survived
. How could someone come up with the phrase "conquer the mountain" when
describing a successful summit. That's more than just stupid. |

cloud but we didn't have a choice. Sunset ridge is just Liberty ridge, it's
nearly impossible to retreat.
Wind was quite strong. From the recorded telemetry data, it was around 30mph
at camp muir, so I think it was 40-50 near summit. I was nearly blown off
my stance several times.

发帖数: 171 | 24 7月6号也在山上，山顶确实有比较大的风和雾。被迫在14K，liberty cap下面一点的平
台上扎营。傍晚风很大，第二天清晨风变小，但还是有时断时续的雾。最后在山顶什么
都看不见，大概觉着是在火山口的边上拍个照片就撤了。下去的时候看见大队的人马从
emmons glacier上来，一路沿着guide放的标帜旗撤下一定高度就完全clear。赞一个天
气预报还是很准，但是山上的小气候就看运气了。 |

，估计风力是80mph, 风把我刮倒了，爬起来，又被掀翻，爬起来坐着定了定神，就下

没被吹倒，不过也要弯着腰降低重心和受力面积，在summit ridge上还打了几根picket
才登顶。登顶了我带的学生问我，咱们能休息5分钟吃点东西吗，我说吃你个头，let's
get the fuck out of here.
