可以pre-order了，但是我的ATT帐户时间不够，4S要卖四百多，有点贵。本着便宜，不
折腾，不延长contract的考虑，去craigslist买了个Veer,60刀。
Veer带WiFi，HSPA+，GPS，orientation sensor，硬件全了。操作系统是webos2.1，挺
好用的，因为屏幕小，日常操作一个手就行了。
有touchpad用户可以用现有的webos帐户登录机器，进app store的时候，已经买过的
apps不用再付钱。
机器买来，如果不装Preware，用起来会有些不方便。推荐以下几个apps/patch
Preware，（必装）
Govnah，（app），可以拿来看电流用
advanced reset option，（patch）长按power时候，多几个选项
muffle system logging，（patch）提高反应速度
add GPS in Device manuel，（patch）在Bluetooth和Turn on Airplane Mode之间多
个GPS
free tether， （app）可以连touchpad，有bug，用完不能关WiFi，得进airplane模式
再关
Data Toggle， （app）开/关carrier的data service
WiFi，GPS，Bluetooth和Data全关的话，可以大大延长待机时间。
通话效果还不错，和iphone差不多，虽然赶不上Nokia。总的感觉，这是一个不折腾手
机，啥都有，可是屏幕太小，apps不多。另一个好处是，tether touchpad是绝配。
（如果没折腾过iphone可能买Pre3会好一点，CL卖150刀） |

I tried to have Touchpad connect to Veer's mobile hotspot, but it didn't
seem like Touchpad can access internet via the Veer's mobile hotspot. |

可以上，但是第一次折腾很麻烦，时灵时不灵，跟段誉的六脉神剑差不多。
freetether打开以后，会没法改security code和SSID，如果这样就不灵。如果可以改
passphrase就灵了。
你需要ATT的4GB tether plan，要不hotspot就不给用。

ATT 4GB tether plan is too expensive. Doesn't worth a try.

Then, installed FreeTether on Veer from the Preware.
I turned on bluetooth on both Veer and Touchpad to connect my Touchpad with
my Veer.
I turned off the WiFi on my Touchpad to test Touchpad's internet
connectivity via Veer's 3G network
But it seems that it didn't work as my Touchpad shows "error no internet
connection". In the FreeThether's "Connections" tab, it shows "No devices
connected"
Is there anything I can do here? |

发帖数: 7021 | 8 Thanks, I finally figured it out. Here are steps:
1. Turn off WiFi on Veer. So the phone will use 3G to access internet.
2. Launch FreeTether from Veer. Turn on FreeTether's WiFi setting.
3. Tap WiFi Prefs. Tap WPA2 security. Set Passphrase there.
4. Turn on Touchpad's WiFi. Have it connect to "FreeTether" network.
5. Go back to FreeTether. Verify the Touchpad's Mac address appeared on the FreeThether's connected device
Now Touchpad has internet access in areas without WiFi.

发帖数: 7021 | 12 You can get a Veer or Pre3 on Ebay/Graiglist without signing two years AT&T contract. But you need to unlock the phone to the T-mobile's data plan.

It doesn't come with Chinese Input. You might be able to download chinese patch from Preware. not sure.
