A postdoctoral position is immediately available in the laboratory of Dr.
David Grosshans at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. U.S.
News and World Reports has ranked MD Anderson Cancer Center as the number
one cancer center 10 of the past 13 years. While much research focuses on
the malignant process, MD Anderson is home to a broad variety of talented
investigators including neuroscientists. MD Anderson offers active graduate
and postdoctoral training programs and the unmatched scientific environment
of the Texas Medical Center, the world’s largest biomedical center. Dr.
Grosshans’ laboratory has an interest in the side effects of cancer
therapies with an emphasis on how altered synaptic function contributes to
cognitive decline following radiation for brain tumors. The laboratory has
both NIH as well as CPRIT (Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas
) funding and works in close collaboration with members of the Department of
Neuroscience at Baylor College of Medicine. We are seeking candidates with
a doctoral degree, a record of first-author publication(s), with proven
experience in confocal microscopy and/or electrophysiology. A background in
neuroscience is highly desired and fresh Ph.D.s are encouraged to apply. The
position offers an opportunity for the successful applicant to author
numerous first author publications and shape their career.
The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is an equal opportunity/
affirmative action employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race,
color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion,
disability or veteran status except where such distinction is required by
law. All positions at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center are
security sensitive and subject to examination of criminal history record
information in a smoke-free and drug-free environment.
The interested candidates should send a CV, 3-4 reference letters and a
