我原计划今年7月份毕业,从去年Christmas开始找工,本来以为自己国内的本科、硕士
都是engineering学位了,虽然在这里所在系是science的,但老板是Chemical
Engineering的,而我所做的项目主要是optimization & experimental design方面的
方法开发(用Matlab编程),另外也有做一些fermentation实验。想着要在
pharmaceutical 或 biotechnology方面的公司找个process development或datamining
的工作,应该不成问题吧?
可谁知等我真正开始找工后,才发现事情原没有我原先想象的那么简单:找
processdevelopment的工作吧,人家嫌我没有industrial工作经验(以前一直想着早点
毕业,而且老板也成天催着赶快出东西,所以没有去做intern,现在后悔莫及),虽然
我自认为自己如今在process optimization方面较有感觉;可是利用我编程方面的技能
去找个与d |

1. 4 months is still pretty short time for job hunting. Keep it up and you
never know when/where an offer comes.
2. apply for statistics programs.

EXPERIENCE, and another degree won't help much.
If I were you, I would consider a postdoc position as a backup while looking
for industrial jobs. A postdoc in industrial environment is preferred, but
a position in academic environment will also give you some experience. If
you can find a postdoc boss with connections to industry, bingo!
The first job is always hard to get for everyone. You will get through, just
