anyway, 97K in a big pharma in Boston is not bad and salary is always hard to negotiate. The other package looks standard. You may ask for more sign-on bonus etc.
Whether industry or academia is your own call (or your LD's). Industry for
sure has less pressure (at least compared to the first 5 years as an
assisstant professor in bio). But it's probably less fun IMHO.

It depends on individual companies. Some companies don't recognize academia
experience at all, while some companies give full credit to academia
experience.

发帖数: 1 | 13 Scientist III 应该是更高的级别，Project Investigator/Lab Leader恐怕是
Scientist II的职位。在大波地区药厂的Scientist II应该可以有$90k-120k的base
pay，3年半的经验对于这个级别来说比较少，应该值$90k-100k左右。
我自己也是药厂工作的PhD，说实话我不建议negotiate基础工资，因为一般涨也涨不了
多少，而且往往人家先给你涨了，然后下次加薪的时候就会少给你加点，里外里是一样

药厂OFFER. (他自己本人是很想留在ACADEMIA 继续发展的)
现在TITLE是个工业界的PI, BASE SALARY 是97000, + 14%
BONUS, 此外有四个星期带\薪休假, 万把块现金搬家费(不需要发票), 无上限但需要发
票的搬家费等.另外有些乱七八糟的如果你买房子,帮你付CLOSING FEE, 再付点儿抵押
贷款等小钱.
我觉得还不错了,挺满意了, 劳工觉得放弃他心爱的ACADEMIA生涯,代价很大, 觉得BASE
SALARY低了些, 想要往上NEGOCIATE, 一般工业界大制药厂你们都在拿多少啊? 能否透
露一下,谢谢.
2.其实他的梦想是虽然没有美国PHD学历,但要在美国名校做FACULTY的, 我觉得生物PI
太辛苦, 我明明是为他好, 不过我劳工总是试图让我觉得我很GUILTY,让他 | E***n

Project Investigator?? Sounds to me, it is like a " 虚衔", once the
project is over, no more investigator is needed.
Usually, small company is flexible with titles, but salary is in a narrow
range. Large compnay is stricted with titles, but has a broad range for
salary.
