Health Economics
Postdoctoral fellowships are available starting January or July, 2012
within the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy’s Pharmaceutical
Health Services Research Department. The fellowship provides
multidisciplinary, advanced training to economists, health services
researchers, and clinicians.
Fellows engage in health economics and comparative effectiveness
research activities funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH),
other government agencies, foundations or private corporations or
institutions. Training includes coursework in pharmacoeconomics and
health services research, and mentored research experiences under the
direction of faculty mentors. Strong quantitative skills and
experience with large database analysis are required. A
At the completion of their fellowships, the successful candidates will
be prepared for positions in academia, government, the managed care or
pharmaceutical industries, or consulting. Fellows receive a stipend
of approximately $50,000 depending on research experience.
The application deadline is December 2, 2011 for screening interviews
at the AEA meetings.
Finalist interviews will take place in Baltimore in February or March
2011.
