Why are the two centrioles in a centrosome positioned to each other
orthogonally? Do they have the same function and chemical composition? Have
they been used as a target in drug discovery?

好问题，基本就是在下在研究的问题。。。
1。为什么垂直？
－没人知道，有一些推测，但是没有数据支持。。。也算是这个领域的一个有趣的悬案
，我老板自己对这个问题很有兴趣。
2。Procentriole和matured centriole的区别
－组成差别很大，比如appendage只在mother的distal上面，
－另外有很多蛋白只在procentriole (sas-6)上表达，有的只在matured上表达(cp110)
，有的都有表达（centrin..)
-功能的区别研究不是很多。
3.有没有target centriole的药物。。。
－有关centrosome clustering的小分子筛选做过了。(Malek..）
－有关centorosme reduplication的也做过了。(Thomas Mayer)
－一般的centriole duplication 的小分子。。这个就是我的一个子课题。。。
问题是centrosome和很多疾病有关系（小脑症），但是疾病本身太rare，跟cilia相关
疾病比起来根本没有重要性，而centrosome跟肿瘤的关系虽然100多年前就有人发现，
至今也没有特别solid的data支持两者的直接关系。。。so...
