The Certifying Scientist (CS) is a scientist who operates in a
multidisciplinary environment in which skills and knowledge in a variety of
subject areas relating to drug testing are required. The primary
responsibilities of the CS are to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the
drug testing process and to subsequently evaluate these test results before
the release of the test reports to physicians or other health care
professionals.
Responsibilities:
•Operation of LCMS for drug confirmation test. Review and report drug
screening and confirmatoin data from the laboratory, and release results
into the Laboratory Information
System (LIS).
•Review subsequent drug confirmation data from the laboratory, compare
with
the initial screening data for accuracy, and release results into the LIS.
•Initiate any corrective action in the laboratory on testing data that
has
been reviewed and found to be incomplete or inconclusive.
•Provide detailed customer consultation for physicians and other
health
care professionals in regards to drug testing methods, drug metabolism and
excretion, report interpretation, or ordering additional testing.
•Instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
•Performs other related duties as required and assigned consistent
with the
level of this position.
Requirements:
•Doctorate or Master’s Degree in a chemical, physical,biological or
clinical laboratory science or medical technology plus one or more years of
laboratory training or experience in toxicology or forensic drug testing, or
Bachelor’s Degree in one of the above designated fields of
study plus three or more years of appropriate training in toxicology or
forensic drug testing.
•Demonstrated knowledge of drug abuse disorders and knowledge in the
pharmacology and toxicology of legally prescribed and illegal drugs.
•Technically proficient with drug screening and drug confirmation
using
methodologies such as ELISA, GC/MS and LC/MS/MS, and the report data
generated by these testing instruments.
•Demonstrated attention to detail, critical decision making experience,
superior customer service and communication skills, ability to teach and
instruct customers and employees on all aspects of drug testing laboratory
procedures. |

待遇已是我能从老板争取的最好的，的确没法更高大上的大药厂比，但就临床检测这一
领域来说，这个待遇属中上，福利方面也算小公司的标配。再说我们也没打算和大药厂
抢人。 做质谱找工的确还行，但还远没到第一份工作就能有多少比这好的选择。
不能支持h1b是硬伤，我也在试图说服老板接受opt,再办h1b.

发帖数: 1425 | 9 都说做Lc-ms找工不算太难，我找了几个月都没什么下文，感觉MS degree的确不少机会
,PhD还是比较难，contractor的机会也不少，我觉得LZ给的条件还不错，可惜我暂时不
能relocate。

做检验的小公司好多，有些经验，再certify了也是个不错的career path.

多又只好找个生物technician的工作做。当时被雷的生物转IT的，好些又回学校学医、
学统计什么的。那次bubble 破掉后IT的工作行情一直等到四五年后才又好转。期间找
不到工作的多了。
