发帖数: 1009 | 2 Most pharmd grads work at retail, cuz that's where the highest demand of
pharmacists is, also that's where the money is. There's also a lot of other
choices, like hospital, academia, industry, etc. Residency and fellowships
are also choices for continuing education.
Btw, the pharmacy techs are almost like cashiers in a drug store, but retail
pharmacists can answer many questions throughout the day depending how busy
the store is. I know some pharmacists like being "cashiers" so they can

in CA earn more just because the living standard is higher there.
Hospital pharmacists usually don't make as much as retail pharmacists do,
but the salary for pharmacy specialists in hospitals might be somewhat
higher than the salary for regular staff pharmacists.

year.
You need work hard! Sometimes, my weekly pay before tax is around $4000. No
surprise.
if you can handle 60-70 hours work per week. You can make $200k per year.

would want to take off whenever I was there, and I didn't mind covering for
them with the extra money ^_^

I come to lab at 8:30am and leave at 6pm Weekend I have to show up for at
least half day for collecting cells etc. I only earn your 1/7. |

retail. Starting salary for staff pharmacists is around 40-50/hour. But you
don't have to deal with insurance issues and you don't have to deal with
unhappy patients directly. You can also sit down most of the time when you
work. And you feel like a member of the health care team. The downside is
you do have to work night shifts although it is the same as in retail.

said the average annual earning for them is around 250k. I don't know how
easy independent pharmacy is going to be in the future though. |

发帖数: 17 | 16 别忘了还有FDA， 制药公司，long term care的drug information。pay的也很好，工
作时间也比较规律。
我在念pharmD的时候在医院工作了三年，医院有医院的问题。如果只是做一般的staff
pharmacist，不仅起薪低，工作环境也相对封闭，很多规模可观的医院人事关系非常复
杂。clinical pharmacist是个好选择，不过要多投入一两年的时间。
independent pharmacy曾经是很好的选择，现在medicare partD 出台以后，压力前所
未有的大，walmart等一些店又有$4 program, 很多已经支持不下去了。而且责任很大
。我念书时候的class president毕业就继承了家里的pharmacy，一年以后就被暂时吊
销执照。。。而且因为利润驱使，很多indenpendent pharmacy有不为人知的黑暗面，
运作很不规范。
看个人的选择吧，我是做不到一周工作60-70小时，挣的多点，交的税多很多，而且没
有时间enjoy life。。。 |

last year. but this year, like I said before, Too many new graduates are
looking for job. Less OT are available. Now we have more time to enjoy life
and be addictive on internet.

Medi-Cal真是这样的,如果这样1年,估计50%的independent都会倒闭,9/1会降到5%,但是
以前他们都很喜欢的abilify, seroquel, clozaril等等现在看到药单就怕.
说道黑暗面,太多了,特别是华人区,猫腻台多了.

我们公司不是这样的,even emergency,OT就OT,从来没有人讲价钱的,我认识的一个cvs
的,因为某年cvs根sav-on合并超级缺人混乱的时候,圣诞的时候好像是3倍还是3倍半,做
了2周还是3周,还是跟DM negotiate的.
我也这么感觉,今年的人太多了,以前OT超级轻松,自己的district机会多得很,又坐又吃
又看杂志,今年呢?如果ot,别的district吧,开车麻烦不说,也忙.虽然说pharmacy看似是
个stable的工作,但是也感觉受了经济的影响呢.不知道一下子突然怎么冒出这么多
pharmacist.估计一年比一年多,southern CA已经饱和了.

burden for family, even if you get loans, how can you solve the problem of
buying foods, renting apartment? |

offer,去医院了.因为他说retail太boring了
