Forest McMullin will discuss the tools you need to take your location
lighting and photography to the next level - and without all the bells and
whistles and expense of many lighting products on the market today! After
spending the last few months in some very remote locations across Europe,
Forest will discuss his “studio-in-a-backpack” approach where weight,
compactness, versatility, and ease of use all play a critical role in
helping to achieve the best image possible in a small amount of time. You’
ll be amazed at the studio light quality that Forest brings to his location
images as he showcases his series of recent portraits and shoots live.
Shooting Session Saturday August 11th Cost is $20

Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just starting to light, McMullin will
show you the tricks you need to take your photography to the next level.
During the evening lecture, he’ll go through dozens of his own pictures,
taking you inside the shoot and explaining how he gets results every time.
He’ll break down posing, lighting, and help you understand his philosophy
of bringing out the dignity of people while still being honest and direct.
During the Saturday shooting workshop you’ll get a chance to shoot using a
selection of McMullin’s set-ups with models provided for your use.
Lighting tools provided will include (but aren’t limited to) softboxes,
beauty dishes, Octabanks, and battery powered, portable flashes. Bring your
camera, use all the equipment, and take home shots for your portfolio.
Meet the Professional
Forest McMullin is a freelance photographer and photographic educator based
in Atlanta, GA. For over twenty years he has been providing distinctive
photographs to Fortune 500 corporations, graphic design firms, advertising
agencies, and numerous business and general interest magazines. He works
regionally, nationally, and internationally and has worked extensively in
both still photography and video. His documentary projects have included
such diverse subjects as men and women with extensive cranial and facial
disfigurement, the first prison boot camp in New York State, and small-time
WWE style wrestlers. Since 2004 his focus has shifted toward his personal
work and his photographs have been exhibited across the United States as
well as in Paris and Beijing as he continues to cover assignments. His
photographs are in numerous public and private collections. Currently he is
a full time Professor of Photography at the Savannah College of Art and
Design’s Atlanta campus. |
