6 months. An announcement date hasn’t yet been set, but expect it some
time in 2015.
The new lens will have the latest coatings from Canon, dust and weather
resistant, a smaller filter thread (67mm?), and will be physically longer
than the current version. The difference in weight wasn’t known, but I
suspect it’ll be very close to the current lens.
