play multi-balls with him in his company.
I feel his level was about 1400. 2 months later, i was busy with
my tennis, i stopped going to his company.
2 years later, we played at top spin one more time, he has improved
from 1400 to a solid 1900 player, if not 2000. |

我见过就花三个月从beginning（从零学起），可以打败advanced的，居然还掺乎起
double了，最后连mix-doubles居然完成的很体面，转身就去辅导别人了，真的靠技术
吃饭。他是怎么提高的，我差不多都看在眼里，记在心上了，窍门肯定有，只是他抓得
到。
乒乓球是个展示智慧的运动，从小抓起的好处是底子厚，起点高，学的快，但后天起步
，如果想拟补这个损失，对于聪明人其实不是大问题，好处就是把握精髓和领悟能力比
小孩全面和扎实些，另外大人比小孩子战术上多些复杂的思绪----但这个rule只适用于
“真正意义上的聪明人”，并不适用这个版的绝大多数。

looked like around 35 y.o. in 08... but one point was he is very fit.
i consider myself at least top 10% fittest guys in my age group, but
he was as fit as myself when we played multi-balls. never easily got
tired from multi-ball training, huge strong legs

what you said made sense, but it is a lot easier to improve from a
total beginner to an intermediate level player, than from intermediate
to advanced.
by usatt.org, average adult rating is about 1400-1500, so a lot of
adults reached their peak at that level.
Sure, Quentin's potential was not 1500, but it is not easy to break
500-600 in 2 years w/o much coach training.

BTW, he plays Wang Hao style, 100% backhand backside loop/defense.

i was most impressed by Quentin.
i played hptd in 2005 at ebay, felt he was a 1200-1300 player, a few years
later, he played in 1600 level at cupertino YMCA.
