拿的是NP OF PEACE.
去年的那个是PHD IN CHEMISTRY,
拿的是NP OF PHYSIOLOGY OR MEDICINE.
看来匹大的RANKING 要提高了.

across many fields, no one can be as versatile as he
it seems that choosing the right topic is much more important than just
hard work

but there are also great researchers who didn't win Nobel
but their work had huge impact
e.g., Salk at Pitt didn't win Nobel, but his work was among
the top 100 news stories of the 20th century elected by
USA Today, while many Nobel works are not mentioned at all

hard.
Herb in his 80s were smarter than many nobel winners such as the guy who won
Nobel in economics and came to CMU for a talk a couple years ago.

发帖数: 508 | 12 Not all Nobel laureated are genius, many of them are hard-working common
people.
I don't know the specific case for Salk but Agree that there are far too many
researchers that are/were much better than many Nobel winners. Some of those
that won Nobel got it really by luck/politics. The committee are biased.
