You are not mine,
Yet whoever would behold you as I do,
Gazing at the smile upon your lips,
the way you ate talking with others,
Gazing after you in your checkered shirt,
once you rise to your feet and leave like a wind,
whatever I see
whatever I read
Your eye is beautifully felt upon them,
I don't expect to hug your waist from behind,
Or to touch your face with my face,
Or even to whisper your name at night,
I know
You are not mine,
But
You belong to my gaze,
