找个人交流都找不到.偶然看到了这有政治学版,也来凑个热闹.有没有搞公共行政的啊!

but my adviser suggested me not. his idea is that, at the doctoral level, it's
better to focus on some discipline rather than doing interdisciplinary work.

过了.比较起来,国内现在连什么是政治学和行政学研究都不知道.公共行政学和美国政府
实践联系的很紧密.偶现在最大的问题是对美国不了解(美国微观政府行政),动不动就不得
不写中国问题.很苦恼啊.谁给支个招.

偶现在最大的问题是对美国不了解(美国微观学校教育),动不动就想写中国的教育问题，:

might help, but it really depends on your interests. For example, social
policy or economic policy? Do you want to be an egg-head or be a practitioner?
If you want to be a politian in China, then you should probably go back to
find a job in the government as opposed to pursue a different field, IMHO.

and non-profit organizations. not difficult. it's a professional degree at least.
For Chinese who want to stay in the US, difficult alhtough not impossible. You
are not engineers, you don't have particular skills that American mpas don't have. And
yet you need work visa.
Why would the government and non-profit orgs bother to recruit you?
But for those who want to start up non-profit orgs in China, I think having a

老美的州政府里的大部分高级官员至少要有MPA, MBA的学位。
法学和经济学的博士也很多。我觉得学位还是管用的，政府喜欢show这些东西给别人，就
连我认识的警察局的小头头们现在都是MPA了。
