First, My title is Research Associate. What is the difference between
Research Associate and Postdoc Fellow? Does Research Associate have any
disadvantage?
Second, The salary is 37,000 dollars annually less applicable withholdings.
How should I understand "less applicable withholdings"? Does that mean I
will get less money than 37,000 after tax? Can we (my wife and I) live in
south California?
Third, The contract is at-will. This gives me an impression | g*********r

if that mean the tax, insurance copay, 401K etc, that is normal
your after tax salary is definitely less than 37K, when people tell you yur
salary, that means before tax
is is tough to live in california, but you can survive if you have no kid
all job is at will, even in company, that is standard phrase, do not worry
actually your title is research associate, this is better, you can ask them
to sponser green card through EB-1B

I'm not familiar with US system. I'm now in Europe.
I'm a fresh PhD. Maybe it's not possible to get more than 37K. Should I ask?
I will not apply for green card since I plan to go back to China soon due to
family reason.
