现在身份H4，从J2转的。
现在有个offer，只sponsor J1身份。正在办理中，遇到了问题。
HR说，我这个有个two-year bar，申请不到长期的J1 visa（可以延续5年这种），解决
方案是先搞一个短期的J1 visa，6个月的，到时间后回中国一趟，等2个月左右再签J1
，那时会是长期的了。
原话在这里：
you would just need to return to China at the end of those 6 months. When
you return to China, it would probably require a 2 month stay while you wait
for a new J-1 visa, which you could keep for 5 years at that time。
现在的问题，我上封信问过HR，短期的J1是否也要服从回国服务两年的规定，她这么回
，是否就是不需要呢？
迷糊，求解惑。。。

J1 has 5 different categories.
Exchange student etc is subject to 12 months bar.
Exchange scholar,visiting scholar etc are subject to 24 months bar.
I don't know your first J1/J2 category, you are subject to 12 months bar or
24 months bar? You need talk to your Institute ISO. |
