extension fee is less than the H1 premium processing fee, I am thinking of
extend my OPT. Can I extend my OPT while the H1b is pending? How long does
the OPT extension application need?

notice (
should get it in less than two weeks)

发帖数: 13835 | 3 可以不可以申请，估计这里知道的人不多，打电话问问ISSO吧。
如果可以，OPT延期有一个好处，就是只要你收到收据，就可以在第一个OPT过期后
合法工作半年（即使你还没有收到OPT批准的通知）。

发帖数: 12601 | 8 2 的CASE是你H1B已经申请下来了，但是比如要今年10月才生效，这样的话如果你原来
有OPT，那中间就没有GAP。我觉得楼主的问题是，他的H1B还没有申请下来吧。

H1B是工作签证，OPT是F1，需要有无移民倾向。所以H1B和F1本身有一定的矛盾的
其实安全的做法应该是先EXTEND OPT，这个过程耗时非常少
然后再申请H1B

10.1也没问题）
所以如果办H1B没有问题，根本不需要做opt extension。
