A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the Herman Laboratory of
the division of Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism at Beth Israel
Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School. The goal of our research
program is to determine the molecular pathogenesis of insulin resistance,
type 2 diabetes, and related metabolic conditions. Current studies focus on
the molecular mechanisms by which liver, adipose tissue, and skeletal
muscle respond to changes in nutrient availability to regulate glucose and
lipid homeostasis. We employ a multidisciplinary approach combining
biochemistry, cell biology, and animal models.
Applicants should have experience with animal experimentation and/or cell
biology and molecular biology techniques. The ideal applicant will have
experience in both animal and molecular methods and will be a highly
motivated, well-organized individual with excellent interpersonal skills.
Qualifications: Ph.D and/or M.D.
